ABOUT SOLOMON
T.W. Graham Solomons (1928-2008) was an American chemist and educator who is best known for his contributions to the field of organic chemistry. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and received his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Rochester in 1950. He then earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Duke University in 1953.
After completing his Ph.D., Solomons joined the faculty of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he taught organic chemistry for over 40 years. During his career, he authored over 200 research articles and several books, including the widely used textbook "Organic Chemistry."
Solomons was a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the American Chemical Society.
